When you first arrive in our office, you’ll be greeted at our front desk. Please ensure that you have your insurance card with you, so we can ensure that the insurance company is billed properly; we will make a copy of all of the information on the card and then give it back to you. While you’re waiting, you can enjoy a variety of beverages and our comfortable waiting room chairs. Typically, the wait is quite short.
We know it’s no one’s favorite activity, but paperwork is necessary in every medical and dental office, to make things run smoothly and to ensure that you get personalized care. To make things easier, we’re providing the necessary forms here on our website.
If you’d like, you can fill out the paperwork at your convenience (for instance, while watching TV), print it, and bring it with you when you come, which will save you time in our office. If you don’t find time to fill it out, or if you forget, don’t worry – we also have copies here, so you can do it in the waiting room.
Your Dental Exam
When you visit our office for the first time, we perform a very thorough exam which includes charting what existing dental work you have and also addressing any new areas of concern. This is also a time for you to meet Dr. Moeckel and our team. If possible we try to coordinate a cleaning with one of our exceptional hygienists during that first visit. Dr. Moeckel uses multiple forms of technology to evaluate your teeth for decay. We use digital x-rays, a special camera that scans for bacteria, and a laser scanner called a diagnodent that allows Dr. Moeckel to check for decay. Typically If there’s a need for any procedures, they’ll be done at a separate visit.
For your convenience, we pre book your next cleaning so your able to schedule at a time that works for you. We will remind you a month prior via email. That way, you don’t have to remember to call in a few months to book it; you can always change it if your schedule changes before your appointment.
If there are no problems with your teeth or gums, then you’ll have your next appointment in about six months or at whatever interval you and your hygienists discussed that will keep your gums and teeth healthy. It’s often recommended that patients with gum disease have more frequent cleanings. If you need any type of procedure, such as a filling or crown, then you can have that appointment as soon as possible.
