Insurance Information

At Del Mar Center for Advanced Dentistry, we believe that cosmetic, restorative, and general dentistry of the most surpassing standard should be within the reach of everyone, regardless of his or her budget. This is why we strive to keep dental costs competitive at our Del Mar, CA practice while offering multiple payment options.

While we will always do our best to keep the cost of our dental treatments as reasonable as possible, it is important to us that our patients realize that we will not compromise the quality of our care or cut corners under any circumstances. There is nothing more important to us than the comfort, safety, and overall satisfaction of our patients. To ensure that we rise to a consistently high standard of care, we use only the finest materials and most advanced technology in every procedure we perform. To offer you less than the best in order to save you money would go against every principle by which we practice dentistry.

We would rather work with you to make the best that dentistry has to offer as accessible to you as possible whatever your budget. Dr. Robert Kim and Dr Timothy Carpenter will be up front with you about the cost of your treatment before you commit to a given procedure, and you will never be pressured into any treatment that you do not wish to undergo. We will always discuss your entire range of options with you, beginning with the most conservative treatment plan that we feel is likely to yield the best possible results.

Ultimately, it is our goal to provide you with the best value for your hard-earned dollar. To learn more about the dental costs at Del Mar Center for Advanced Dentistry, serving all of San Diego from our office near UCSD, please schedule your initial consultation with Dr. Kim or Dr. Carpenter today.

Dental Insurance

The coverage provided by dental insurance policies tends to vary significantly from provider to provider. It is important that you understand fully what your individual policy covers before you commit to undergoing any particular treatment. Although we will certainly help you in any way we can to understand and make the most of your insurance benefits, it is ultimately your responsibility to know what your policy does and does not cover.

In general, most dental insurance policies will provide partial or full coverage for preventive and routine care, such as oral exams, x-rays, periodontal screenings, and professional cleanings. Most also provide at least partial coverage for medically necessary treatments such as fillings and, under certain circumstances, dental crowns. Some policies cover orthodontic treatment; some will even cover Invisalign® to the same extent that they would cover treatment with traditional metal braces.

It is very rare that a dental insurance policy would cover any portion of a cosmetic dentistry treatment such as teeth whitening or porcelain veneers. The cost of treatments such as these nearly always has to be covered by the patient, out of pocket.

Insurance Paperwork

Our team will help you in your dealings with your dental insurance provider by filling out all necessary paperwork and communicating with your provider to determine the extent of your coverage. If your provider denies an insurance claim for a treatment that we believe was necessary for the betterment of your oral health, we will help you with the appeal, doing what we can to make sure that you are not held liable for the full cost of your treatment.

Financing and Credit Card Options

If you do not have insurance, or if you require care that is not covered by traditional dental insurance policies, then we invite you to ask about the interest-free financing options that are available through Del Mar Center for Advanced Dentistry. We also accept all major credit cards for your convenience. We will explore all possible financial solutions in search of a way to provide you with the dental care you need.
